We had occasion for only a one night stay, having never visited Perth before, and can honestly say we were reasonably impressed with the Duxton. There was free washing powder in the guest laundry, which is always useful for travels in Australia. Review tags are currently only available for English language reviews. On the downside, the rooms themselves are ordinary - poorly lit, outdated bathrooms, slow flow shower, etc.

The savouries included salmon roulade, goat cheese tartlets, sandwiches and more. The food was delicious and plentiful. There was a minibar with a reasonable selection of drinks.To sum it up, the Duxton's features are elegant and comfortable enough to be happy with. Serving staff were friendly, efficient and well organised.

Overall a very very enjoyable hotel to stay at. Paypass is no longer new technology. That and our individual pots of tea were delivered efficiently.

Only a single waitress but with plenty of talent and coolness she managed to serve an entire room without anyone feeling like they were required to wait or were being rushed.All in all we had a lovely time and if time and means allow we will be back. The staff that we encountered, from the doorman, concierge to the front desk attendant were all extremely pleasant, helpful and professional. The lobby presented well being spacious and relatively sophisticated in appearance. Soundproofing between rooms and between the room and the corridor was very poor, if not non-existent. I have NEVER stayed in a 5 star where the bar has closed at 10pm. Sure, there have been plenty of pretenders to the crown, with the chaps down in Burswood doing some interesting things; but the Duxton just keeps holding its own.I had just returned from a 2 year deployment in NSW.
