In 2020-21, the Berman Institute’s Bioethics Certificate Program will be geared toward current JHU graduate students.

The bioethics program is designed to provide students with an understanding of these issues, and the background and the conceptual tools to think about them clearly.

The Master of Bioethics degree is a new collaborative program of the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Students will complete three required courses totaling 9 credits, and then choose three courses from the Berman Institute course list totaling 9 credits to fulfill the 18-credit requirement to complete the certificate program. To gain a comprehensive view of bioethics, students are expected to take a range of courses during their time at Johns Hopkins. Beginning in 2021-22, the Berman Institute’s Bioethics Certificate Program will be geared not only toward current Johns Hopkins University graduate students, but also non-degree-seeking students as well as a broader general audience. The certificate program requires a minimum of 18 term credits. The program is a collaboration between the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and the Department of Philosophy, and draws on the resources of both.

Current Johns Hopkins graduate degree students desiring specialization in particular topic areas; Individuals seeking to learn more about specific areas of public health.
